Bacon-wrapped halloumi cheese
Ingredients
- 8 oz. 230 g halloumi cheese
- 6 oz. 170 g bacon, in slices
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (225°C).
- Cut cheese into 8–10 pieces.
- Wrap a piece of bacon around each piece of cheese.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake in oven for 10–15 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
Tip!
Don’t feel like turning on the oven? Fry the cheese in a frying pan over medium-high heat with a bit of oil or butter. Switch it up a little by subbing pancetta for the bacon. Try adding one – or more – of these amazing dips!
Air fryer method
Preheat the air fryer to 425°F (220°C).
Proceed with steps 2 and 3 of the recipe.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with coconut oil. Place the wrapped cheese in the basket and air fry for 8-10 minutes until the bacon is crispy.
Had these breakfast today as I didn't want eggs (had made frittata for lunch) and think chia seed porridge was causing stomach issues.
They're a new favourite. I let them cool down for 10mins before eating so were warm.
Sadly the test cook didn't go well, as they were snaffled by my uncle, fiancee, and parents! Lovely! *humphf"
I mde myself two more and utter heaven. Will try it with serrano/parma ham soon.
This is 4g carbs per serving.
I will try this again, but I'll fry them, emptying the water as I go along to see if it improves the outcome.
Any bacon with about equal lean and fat will be good.
Most foods that need to be refrigerated can safely be stored for 3-5 days.
So glad you love it! Eat to hunger, that's the key! :)
