The low-carb expert panel
At Diet Doctor, we are redefining what it means to be evidence based. We ensure that all the information in our guides has been reviewed by expert medical practitioners and is based on appropriate science (or includes an explanation of why it is not based on science).
But not every statement has a peer-reviewed study supporting it. Many of our recommendations rely on clinical experience, since there are not yet any published science examining it.
While this is considered a weak level of evidence, it is still important for us to ensure accuracy and completeness. That is why we established a Low-Carb Expert Panel. This panel is made up of a select group of talented and experienced low-carb clinicians who are helping set the standard of care for therapeutic use of low-carb and keto diets.
We will not cite a statement as being backed by clinical experience unless 75% of our panel agrees. That way, you can have confidence that our recommendations are either backed by science (with an explanation of the strength of the science) or confirmed by an expert panel of clinical practitioners.
