Ingredients

  • 8 oz. (2 cups) 230 g (475 ml) cheddar cheese or provolone cheese or edam cheese, in slices
  • 2 oz. 55 g butter
This recipe has been added to the shopping list.

Instructions

  1. Place the cheese slices on a large cutting board.
  2. Slice butter with a cheese slicer or cut really thin pieces with a knife.
  3. Cover every cheese slice with butter and roll up. Serve as a snack.

Tip!

Cheese roll-ups are delicious as they are, but you can also add extra little add-ins. For example paprika powder, salt flakes, finely chopped parsley or other fresh herbs, all would be amazing in this! Do you want more ideas for low-carb snacks? Check out our full low-carb snacks guide

So right! NO MORE JUNK!! Cheese and other fresh unprocessed foods are health foods again (i.e., what makes you healthy instead of fat and sick.)

70 pounds down, feel wonderfully healthy.

I do this but I use mayo and Ham slices instead of butter. Sometimes add a teeny bit of relish. Oh also wrapped in a lettuce leaf!

    Hi Timothy!

    2 gram/carbs per serving.

What does the green circle with 2g mean?

To the recipe compiler - you might like to give some thought to giving BOTH metric and USCS weights and volume. At 5:30am I'm not really in the mood in converting your quaint fluid ounces & ounces to grams and millilitres with a hungry (she thinks) cat rubbing round my shins wanting more food.

Lol cheese is still “processed” there’s a process in making it.

    Regarding cheese
The thing is even cooking is technically a form of processing or changing your food so unless you are on a raw food diet, which we are not, we are all eating food that’s been somewhat “processed”. So maybe it would be better to say we avoid all highly processed foods, Cheese is a good thing!

This would be wonderful and very filling with salmon cream cheese. I do this, with thin slices of rare roast beef covered in cold garlic or herb butter, add salt and pepper to taste and rollup for a quick snack. It makes a wonderful quick lunch item with butter fried avocado, tomato and olives.

Ummm....if you like gouda or swiss, then why wouldn't it "work"? Why do people always ask this question reguarding recipes? If you want to change out one thing for another, then do it. If you don't like onions, don't add onions. People wake up!

Will Gouda or Swiss cheese work?

So you had a sandwhich...without the bread. Very forward-thinking of you!
  23. Steve H.
Also, I hope you're using Vegan Mayo, because regular mayo is made with egg....and this recipe is under "no eggs".

I made Swiss cheese roll-ups with thin sliced swiss cheese and chicken salad using canned chicken, so easy. With diced onion and celery, makes all salads amazing, in my opinion...And yes, two is really plenty! So delicious. I'm thinking about making a plateful of these for a gathering, since we're on the keto diet...

What kind of butter do you use?

You can use any butter that fits your dietary and budgetary needs. There is not a specific recommendation.

There is a toggle on all of our recipes above the list of ingredients where you can switch from US to metric measurements. You can also adjust the number of servings you're making at any time.

    Thanks for metric.

Want to let you know that I absolutely LOVE cooking with my scale! It makes measuring so darned easy. Just but a plate or bowl on the scale and start adding the ingredients, taring after each addition. So much easier in plating a meal for two, too! Absolutely loving this site because it gives you meal plans that keep a daily carb count (so I don’t have to) and it prints out a shopping list! Such a time saver!!!

Is the 2g of carbs per cheese roll?

Is the 2g of carbs per cheese roll?

It's 2g net carbs per serving. If you make 4 servings and get 8 roll ups, then 2 roll ups is a 2g carb serving.
