I just made this and it is delicious. I added some onions and sausage to the recipe to create a main dish. I cut back on the garlic and amount of cream. I think it would have been too wet/runny if I'd used the full amount. It probably depends on how large your head of cauliflower is. Next time, I think I will also add some mushrooms. Also, I didn't add any salt and the end result still was plenty salty from the cheese and other ingredients.

I made this for company and everybody loved it. After I blended the broccoli with all of the creamy stuff, I tasted the spoon and it was divine.. just that part.. it was like the most creamy broccoli soup ever.. :)

These instructions were a little confusing...you mix up the cooked broccoli with the cream and cream cheese??? Or, the cooked brocc and raw cauli get put in the dish and the sauce is poured over them???

Step 2 -4 : You cook your frozen broccoli and use them to make a sauce with cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, salt, pepper and garlic powder.

Sounds great! Next time you want to make the old favourite Chicken a la King and you don't have mushrooms; use cooked cauliflower instead then also add the sweet pepper (red or green) I prefer red and the rest of the ingredients you normally would.
    Its really good!

I made this today but added minced beef to the dish so that I could have a complete dish. I added lots of spices to the meat including salt pepper paprika turmeric and a hint of chilli. It's in the oven cooking at the moment I hope it tastes good will let u know :)

going to make this tonight! I think I will add a couple eggs to the sauce to make it more like a quiche. Will report the results!

    What size baking dish is this? 9" x 13"? 8" x 8"?

This sounds awesome, and thx everyone for the creative ideas, I found a bit of confusion in the part with the butter. After I grease the dish with the butter, it says to leave the remainder of butter at the bottom of dish ? Like in a clump ? or melted ? or what ?
    Thanks,
    Jim.

Just put mine in the oven...simple enough. I added fresh minced garlic from the garden and used fresh broccoli as well.
  14. Mark
Jim, just leave it in a clump on the bottom...it will melt all over through cooking process..

Am I missing something? I'd like to see carbs per serving listed with each recipe. Am I just not seeing it?

In the UK you'll want to buy regular whipping cream from your local grocer which has a fat content around 36%. In the US our whipping cream has a lower fat content so we have to buy "heavy" whipping cream to get the higher fat content. Hope this helps.

cooking right now in the oven hope it tastes great!

Can I use full fat coconut milk as a partial substitute for the heavy whipping cream?
  22. Nikki
This was great, but recipe was confusing. I ended up beating the cooked broccoli with my kitchen Aide with the cream and cream cheese. Wasn't sure if I was suppose to use an immersion tool...
I also had to bake it for 35 min. Longer.
The cauliflower wasn't done enough. I think it should be pre-cooked a little to speed up the bake time.

We made the recipe this evening, it was very easy to make and very good and filling.
We eat it whit some baked cod. We will make this more for sure.
Thank you very much for the recipes and the good information on the site!!!

Can you freeze this once cooked and reheat? It really made way too much for one person.

Made this tonight for dinner. it's so rich, decadent, but yet has veggies and no starch! Bf loved it! I served it alongside some seared salmon. I followed the recipe to a T and it came out great! I would actually increase the amount of cauliflower next time (mine was kinda small). The sauce is amazing!

I made a very similar dish once from the Settlement Cookbook where you melted cream cheese with half and half and poured it over lightly sautéed chicken breasts and baked it. I sprinkled some paprika and parmesan on top as an addition. Now, having made this broccoli sauce, I'm going to try it with the chicken breast.

Another great and simple, low carb high fat nutritious recipe from Diet Doctor!

I just made this and it is very good! My boyfriend hates cauliflower so i may try making this again with all broccoli.

Heavy whipping cream is double cream. Don't worry about the fat content per se. Too much faff. Just use double cream or single cream if you can't find double. It is annoying that recipes on the Internet, aka World Wide Web don't list ingredients in English and American. Garlic powder? Is garlic powder real food? Why not fresh garlic? What is the equivalent in real garlic? Anybody know?

Sooooooo good! When I ate it, I didn't miss mac and cheese or mashed potatoes at all!

I made this last night! I doubled the recipe and added chicken to up the protein grams. The only thing I would do different is add maybe 1/3c. less cream. Other than that, it was PERFECT. Super filling and delicious. Next time I am adding mushrooms. Now my SO and I have lunches for the whole week....it's perfect! :)
  30. Kelly
I think so! In freezer baggies, or tupperware that's meant to go in the freezer.
  31. Kelly
How big was your pan? I doubled my recipe and used a 13x9. I bet if you used a bigger pan, it would lessen the cook time. My cauliflower was perfect.
  32. Kelly
I greased the pan with the butter, and whatever was leftover I cut into lots of chunks and scattered on the bottom of the pan....seemed to work out well!
  33. Theresa
Elle, from what I remember, 1/8 of a teaspoon of garlic powder is equivalent to 1 clove of garlic. Garlic Powder is simply dehydrated garlic and is therefore a 'real food.' Best...
  34. Sarah
I'm wondering if some or all of this can be made ahead -- like the day before Thanksgiving -- and then the final baking done at mealtime. I made this fresh on Thanksgiving last year, and absolutely love it... Just trying to make things less stressful this time, but I don't want to ruin it!

How do you know How much a seeving is??
  36. Grace
I love all those recipes, unfortunately, instructions sometimes very confusing and incomplete, a.o. what size of baking dish to use, soft butter, cold butter, soft cream cheese etc.
  37. Rachael
Just noticed there is a us or metric button on top of page I can know do it in grames
  38. sarah
Nothing special. I don't know about these reviews. It was okay, not bad, good but nothing i would make again.
  39. Alison
Absolutely delicious. Easy recipe to follow. I whizzed the remainder of the butter in with the broccoli sauce.
  40. Pam Waldrop
Went right by the recipe and loved it. Only thing I might try next time is either not as much butter on bottom or putting on the top like Kelly did.
  41. Helen
Made this tonight. It's nice but unfortunately way too garlicky... next time I wouldn't put any garlic in. I only used 1/3rd of cheddar cheese and it was plenty, plus a few thin slices of mozzarella on top.
  42. Toni Lewis
Oh gracious, how sweet it is! This hit was super easy to make. I split the recipe to only make half. I went ahead and made this earlier and now have the pleasure of indulging. I will definitely be making this again. Does anyone know how many carbs is in 2 cups of this stuff, because that's how much I've eaten so far...and I want more, LoL!

45 minutes and cauliflower still not ready? Thought I cut them small enough - but smells amazing
  46. Gail
I made this exactly as written. It was WONDERFUL. Having started Keto just under a month ago, my husband and I are adjusting to a new way of cooking and eating. This recipe is a keeper! Thank you for sharing it.
  47. Fern
whipping cream is not a thing in the UK, nothing is labeled as such. For UK readers check the wiki entry for cream.. I interpret it as double cream.
  48. Janice
This was amazing. We could not stop eating it. This is a restaurant quality side dish! No doubt, this will be a Keto staple. :)
