omg, this was just awful. I had my first keto breakfast, 2 eggs with 30g butter scrambled, it was so rich I feel sick, plus I added too much salt, i felt i may as well have been drinking heated butter with salt. yuck lol !

They say to add salmon, or other items to the breakfast. Are there portion controls for these?
    Thank you!

That photo is misleading, isn't it?! No salmon and avos in this recipe/nutrition data. I would like a function to add side dishes to the personalised meal plan breakfast and other meals.

This was great but 10g of butter per egg was better, otherwise it's too rich.

I am the kind of person that can eat butter by its self, so I really like this! I added a cup of coffee full of brain octane from bulletproof. And Dr Colberts Collagen powder and sugar free vanilla coffee syrup. made for a very low carb meal that says HELLO Keto with 87.6% fat and only 1carb! happy about my first keto meal.

    Vera,
there is a website called Carbmanager. It will import recipes from any URL where you can edit them easily. I have my entire day planned even snack. It takes a bit a time to plan a day, so you have to really make time to work on it. That is the part that is hard for me, but I am making time to succeed.

This is a great breakfast specially when sleeping over at a friendsโ€™. I also add some cream to the eggs to make it extra creamy! All my relatives also love it even though they are not eating low carb. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Š

I decided to give the scrambled eggs a break for 3 days and been having soft boiled eggs instead. My scales tell me I'm putting on weight.
Am I eating too much protein?

I go to gym or outdoor for a long walk or running 6-8km everyday. then I make my keto coffee at 9am then have my breakfast at 11 am. The meal plan do not include avocado for breakfast but i want to incorporate avocado with my breakfast. Is anyone doing similar thing or its only me?....

@pjoshi - You do not need to eat eggs at all. Yes they provide quality fats and proteins, but is not obligatory to have them. You can eat what ever you feel like, as long as it does not have to much carbs. You can even skip BK if you like and have only a caffee, black or with cream. Or maybe have some yogurt, or anything you like that does not have to many carbs. Blueberry smoothie, Chia pudding, Cucumber sticks rolled in cheddar slices.. there are so many options.Just find something you find will suit you best.

@Mustafa Telawi - You can add what ever you like to it. This program just gives you an exemple of how it could look like your meals. You can change what ever you feel like, between them, get one out, do what ever fits you best. As long as you do not go above the 20-25g of carba /day, you will be fine.

"@" About the weight gain while keto. It does happen. The reasons? Well, many.. 1. could be that you do not drink enough water and so you retain liquid in your tissues. 2. You could have been eating more calories then usual. 3. You started to go to gym and therefor you put some muscle, 4. You eat to much proteins without working out to get rid of the glucose. 5. You may be binging on foods or nuts without realising.. There are many reasons for weight gain in keto, you just need to drink lots of water, plan your meals for the day and make sure you do not go to far with either the carbs nor the calories, and ofc the most important, do not give up.
As long as you eat healthy, your body will bit by bit get rid of the toxins in your body, and once that happens, you'll start to see the drops. Just take it step by step.
And if keto is not enough, incorporate IF. After that lower the eating period until you find the perfect fit for you. Your body will react to it and start to act for it's recovery.

Just don't give up. It's easy to give up. Dont

Unfortunately diet sodas are not a good option due to the sweeteners they use. Here is an article on our website with more detail.

I'm going to start this tomorrow. Cleaning out pantry today. Feeling a bit stressed. I've did low carb successfully about 15 years back.. and occasionally since then. However have tried this a couple of times in the last 5 years not very well. Now that I'm in my 40's I'm packing the lbs back harder and need some help.

    Hello,
I am starting Sunday (scared) but going to give it a try. I have two questions for anyone to answer please:
    1. Can we add salmon or spinach to the scrambled eggs? In the Day 1 of the first week it doesn't have the TIP to add things to it, so is it ok if you are doing the Challenge?
    2. Where can we post general questions about the program? I am struggling with how to create a meal that isn't on the recipe list...how much fat, versus protein, versus carbs?
    Thank you so much,
    Kristen

Yes, you can make additions, just remember that anything you add will affect the macros and ratios.

Generally, a good keto meal will be 5% carbs, 20-25% protein and 70-75% fat.

    Thank you Kristin,
Is this the only place you can post questions? I sent one of the panel providers a question and got a bounce back.
    Thank you

For really yummy, creamy eggs: to 2 eggs add 1TBSP room-temp Greek ceam cheese & 2 tsp freeze-dried chives. S/P to taste; scramble together with the eggs in butter. Superb!

There aren't great across the board substitutions; it may depend on the recipe.

I recently discovered that the british scrambled their eggs a different way, and it's perfect for keto. Use a small saucepan instead of a skillet, melt the butter, then add the whisked eggs. Us a spatula and mix the eggs non-stop, gently scrapping the bottom, removing the pan from the heat from time to time to slow down the cooking a bit. Serve when creamy, before they solidify too much.

This way, the butter is perfectly incorporated to the eggs, and it's absolutely delicious. You can even add creme fraiche when the eggs are ready.

Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey have YouTube videos about that.

    Can we eat any fruit?

Here is a link to our guide on fruits. For most people on keto, fruit other than berries will be too high carb and have too much fructose.
