I love this!! After always eating low-fat foods and getting bigger, I was just diagnosed with diabetes. Since my whole family has diabetes, I just accepted the fact that one day, I too, would get it. Early this year my doctor told me to start taking 500 mg of Metformin. In March she told me to google Diet Doctor and to read The Obesity Code, but I did not do this as I was not in the headspace with a very difficult time at work and didn’t think I could give up fruit. At my July check up, she said I needed to increase my metformin to 1000 mg twice a day and to go on heart pressure meds to protect my heart. I found the paper she had written about Diet Doctor and figured I might as well try this since my other opinion was to take more meds.
In two weeks I have lost 8 pounds (3.5 kg), 1 inch (2.5 cm) off my waist and have normal blood sugar readings every day, with no big spikes after eating. I love every meal I have made and am only eating twice a day because I don’t get hungry like I used to get. I felt awful in July and two days after starting this, I was my old self. I have talked to many friends who are all going to try this. I feel so good, am losing weight and have normal blood sugar levels. I am camping for a week and have been using the recipes from the two-week challenge but will be joining your program when I come back. I thank my doctor for saving my life by suggesting I try this and you for having a very easy-to-follow program and sending the emails every day.Thank you!!!!

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic! I actually started about a week before I “officially” started Diet Doctor’s two-week challenge, so in three weeks, I’ve lost 12 lbs (5.5 kg), and I’m still losing! This is, now, not a “diet” to me, but is going to be my food “lifestyle” going forward. I have to have some blood tests in a few weeks, and I can’t wait to see the results.
Before the Keto program, my cholesterol was up, I was at an A1C of 6.6, and have had other health issues. I moved to the desert Southwest about three years ago, and when most of the other country is out enjoying summer, we’re stuck inside from about June to October with temperatures ranging from 100 to 115F (38-46C); and windy? OMG, so windy, and not a fresh breeze, but like you are being hit with a hot blast of sand. Anyway, since moving here, I put on 40 lbs (18 kg) (which is on top of the other 40 lbs (18 kg) I put on after my spouse died), so up until three weeks ago, I’ve been miserable. There is now light at the end of the tunnel, and I am looking forward to life again!I will keep you posted.
Ever thankful,

The results from the two-week challenge were really impressive. I recently turned 40, and after my blood panel came back with high triglycerides, my doctor told me I need to cut back on the carbs. I did some searching about low-carb eating, found the Diet Doctor site and decided to go for it. In a lot of ways, the challenge was easier than I expected. The meal plans were a life-saver — I don’t think I would have made it through the 2 weeks without them! I ended up making egg muffins or a frittata on Sunday to have my breakfasts ready for the week so I would otherwise only have to cook once a day.
The recipes on the site are delicious, and it’s so helpful that the carbs are listed so you can easily substitute one recipe for another, Over the two weeks, I lost 6 pounds (3 kg), finally getting back to my pre-baby weight (and my “baby” is about to turn 5!). I am still working to overcome my fear of fat, and I am still experiencing headaches every day, but I think this may be because of a medication I take, which I can probably reduce the dosage. In the meantime, I’m happy to keep drinking a cup of bullion to increase my salt intake. I plan to continue my keto journey with Diet Doctor’s help.
Thanks for making this ad-free, research-based site so widely accessible!

This is a great tool for Keto Beginners.
I am a 72-year-old female Cityng in Quebec city, Canada. I found the two-week challenge after I had started eating keto beginning of July. My primary motivation for going Keto was to lower my morning blood sugar and it worked beautifully. I am now consistently in the 5.6 to 5.9 range compared to 6.8 to 7 and more before. The two-week challenge helped me figure out how to be at 20 g of carbs. However the weight-loss is minimal. About 1 pound (0.5 kg) a week. I need to lose a good 70 pounds (32 kg) so it would be great if I’d lose a bit faster. That said I feel so good physically on keto that I plan to do is this for ever. The Diet Doctor’s website is wonderful and so helpful. Thank you for the great work you do and for all the information you provided.

I decided that I wanted to start the Keto diet but had no clue whatsoever how or where to start. I was getting really overwhelmed and anxious researching and finding an abundance of information, not knowing where to begin. I am beyond thankful that I came across Diet Doctor! The two-week challenge was exactly what I needed to get started! The convenience of the shopping list is brilliance beyond words and not needing to calculate macros is what sold me.I had tried a couple days on my own, before discovering the challenge, and did fine with the low carbs but I couldn’t get my protein down and fat up (never a problem I thought I’d have!). This was not even a thought or worry in the slightest during the two-week challenge with it all being worked out and predetermined in the recipes…genius!! I can’t wait to keep going and personalize my weekly meal plans (also all equipped with the shopping lists and recipes)! …and, BONUS, I’m down 12 lbs (5.5 kg) in 2.5 weeks and have never felt better!! Thank you so much to the Diet Doctor team for making this easy, painless, and super rewarding! :)
